the weather has been intense. Hot and muggy. I know what your are going to say... poor us right? When it is scorching outside, we tend to enjoy the cool mornings and late afternoons outdoors, picking goodies in the garden, swimming and appreciating a cool breeze. After receiving a copy of The Blue Chair Jam Cookbook by Rachel Saunders, hot afternoons will be soon spent in the kitchen making jam. The photography in the book is beautifully done, you can almost taste the berries. Rachel demystifies the fine art of making jam without pectin, testing for doneness with her frozen spoon method and fruit pairings. The strawberry jam for children is on my list to try as it seems to be the most foolproof.
